The code - 624 - that was used to detonate the bomb under the podium was a direct reference to this season - the sixth season - of "24".
The explosion of the bomb in the president's podium at the end of the episode incorporates footage from when Henderson locks Jack in a tech room and detonates a small bomb remotely during Day 5 4:00pm-5:00pm.
Around half way through the last episode Wayne said Assad would be delivering his speech in less than an hour, yet it is much longer than than when the speech is actually delivered.
Carson said the bomb would detonate after 15 seconds, but it was more like 20 before the explosion occured after Reed typed in the code 624.
Morris O'Brian: (to Chloe) Look, even I know that I shouldn't be here. There's a big part of me that wants to go home, crawl into bed and forget this day ever happened. But I'm staying, because CTU needs me.
Charles Logan: This isn't easy for you, is it, Jack?
Jack Bauer: What?
Charles Logan: The possibility I may not be the same man you've hated for so long.
