The C-130 Hercules was first introduced into the U.S. Air Force in 1959 mainly to transport troops and supplies. Its large rear door has a ramp that has the capacity for loading and carrying helicopters and armored vehicles. The C-130 can air drop up to 42,000 pounds of supplies. Its flexible gear also allows it to land on rough dirt strips.
