The Super Cobra is a Marine attack helicopter capable of land and sea-based missions. The twin-engine craft seats two. It is used for armed escorting, fire support and visual reconnaissance.
Reportedly, each Super Cobra costs over $10 million. During Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, these helicopters destroyed 97 tanks, 104 armored personnel carriers and vehicles, 16 bunkers and 2 antiaircraft artillery sites without the loss of any aircraft for the Marines.
