| 24 SERIES ONE DVD REVIEW
The series producers employ just about every story trick to keep the audience guessing: giving Bauer time pressures; throwing false trails and unexpected delays in his path. Throw in some kidnapping, a mole in CTU and a body count and it all adds up to a riveting 16 hours or so. |
Pros
- Sets and locations are artfully deployed.
- Musical score is a powerful, brooding presence.
Cons
- Poor Special Features.

DVD REVIEW:
|
Using split screens and much cross-cutting between numerous storylines, 24 unfolds with the intensity of a breaking news story happening live. Credit must be given to the creators and writers for managing to make sense (mostly) of all the real time activity. There are a couple of instances where they do cross the line of credulity (a sudden case of amnesia, for example), but for the most part the plot holds together pretty well. Keifer Sutherland and Dennis Haysbert both do an amazing job of keeping the emotional intensity high the whole time.. |
